Year after year, the summer concerts at Waldbühne are among the undisputed highlights of Berlin’s live music calendar – so, how does one advertise events with a live audience of over 20,000 people and many more joining from home via their televisions? From 2011 to 2018 PS Music devised and implemented communication strategies for the annual Waldbühne concerts of Daniel Barenboim’s West-Eastern Divan Orchestra. We were also in charge of all PR activities for a concert from the First Classics series with star tenor Jonas Kaufmann in the same venue.
Our work covered a wide range of PR and marketing work on many different communication channels: amongst other things, BVG buses wrapped in marketing visuals drove all around town and cinema commercials did their part to address a diverse audience. Moreover, classic PR pushes, media cooperations and extensive marketing initiatives including advertisements, flyers, radio spots, subway commercials and large-scale billboards were employed, ensuring that the concerts at Waldbühne were on everyone’s lips all throughout the summer.
